Our goal is to encourage every woman in our parish to become active in WinGS. We urge you to attend all business meetings and take an active part in WinGS. If you have any comments or questions, please feel free to call any officer or circle chairman.

Meetings:

WinGS meetings are held the second Tuesday of each month at 6:00pm in the parish hall at St. Mary - Lake City. 

All women of the parish are automatically a member of WinGS and welcome to attend any meeting.

Gatherings:

• Fall Fest (September)
• Assist with Annual Memorial Mass in Rockwell City along with women's groups from Rockwell City and Manson
• Christmas party at the beginning of December
• God's Harvest Sale (first Saturday of December)
• Bake Sales to support students of our parish
• Fish Fry
• Mother Daughter Brunch (weekend prior to Mother's Day)
• Organize breakfast for First Communion students and graduating seniors
• Chicken BBQ (end of August)
• Host coffee and rolls after Mass in coordination of K of C and Holy Name

circles

• Manakel (Peace), Ariel (Nature), Dina (Learning), Sariel (Guidance), Gabrielle (Messenger)
• Each circle has a chairman and two co-chairman
• All women are assigned a circle
  • The Christmas Party, Mother Daughter Brunch, and Bake Sales are rotated annually among different circles
• Funerals are provided salads and desserts from circles; chairman will contact members as needed
• New books are provided to members each fall with updated dates and contacts 

Activities

Chicken BBQ
Each year on the last Sunday in August, St. Mary - Lake City holds the annual Chicken BBQ. Holy Name (the men's group) barbecues the chickens on large grills on church grounds. WinGS organizes volunteers within the parish to prepare and serve food. Assignment sheets are mailed out several weeks prior to the event. The meal consists of 1/2 chicken, coleslaw, baked beans, and a roll. 

God's Harvest Sale
The God's Harvest Sale, held the first Saturday in December, is a major fundraiser. If you have never been to a sale like this be sure to mark your calendars and join us. 
All kinds of items are needed - baked goods, jams and jellies, meat, poultry, craft items that have a wide appeal and would attract bidders, seed corn, Christmas decorations, babysitting, hay, beauty shop certificates are a few of the items we usually have. It is recommended not to bring too much of one thing. All bidders are welcome! Even if you spend $10.00, spend it for your parish. Lunch is served by WinGS - sloppy joes, hot dogs, bars, pies, pop, and coffee. 

Religious Education
Religious Education is the ongoing faith and spiritual development considering life experiences, sacred scripture, church teachings, etc. Youth meet on Wednesday evenings and OCIA candidates on Thursday evenings. Other groups organize as it works best for those involved. Volunteers are always needed to lead discussions.
